CrossFit training is constantly varied, with functional movements performed at high intensity. The proven and successful method of CrossFit is based on personalised training in small groups, which is highly competitive and produces results very effectively. CrossFit takes the best movements from olympic weightlifting, gymnastics and conditioning and combines them to a short but highly intense workout.

World-Class Fitness in 100 Words

CrossFit describes the path to world-class fitness as follows:

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.

CrossFit worldwide

CrossFit was developed by Greg Glassman in the early 80s. Since the launch of www.crossfit.com in 2001, CrossFit has built a following around the world. There are more than 1000 official affiliates in over 65 countries, where certified trainers teach according to the CrossFit method.

CrossFit’s following is constantly growing, especially in the US and now also in Europe. Due to the effectiveness of CrossFit, it is well regarded by the military, police, firedepartments and paramedics. This is especially meaningful, because the physical performance is vitally important for people working in these areas. CrossFit is used by the Navy SEALs, one of the most distinguished special operations unit of the U.S. Armed Forces.
