Certification
CrossFit knows three levels of trainer certification: Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. CrossFit HQ maintains a list of upcoming certifications.

Level 1: Fundamentals
The Level 1 certification is an introductory course on the core methods and movements of CrossFit. There is no prerequisite for the certification.
Level 2: Virtuosity
The level 2 certification is intended for trainers who want to demonstrate and certify their teaching skills. It requires at least 6 months of experience in teaching CrossFit. The test is rigorous and the passing rate is reported to be around 30% for first attempts.
Level 3: Mastery
The level 3 certification represents the highest level. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in teaching other trainers. This is evaluated by attending a CrossFit level 1 certification as an intern. At least five of the following CrossFit specialist certificates have to be completed:
- Basic Barbell
- Olympic Lifting
- Kettlebell Basics
- Running and Endurance
- Gymnastics
- Nutrition
- CrossFit Kids Certification
- Triathlon
Prerequisite for the level 3 certification is a qualifying score at the level 2 certification.
